About Erin (she/her): Medicine Woman, Guardian of Placentas, Weaver of Dreams
For more than 12 years, I have been working to help facilitate transformational birth experiences for women & birthing people. I came to study placenta encapsulation (which felt like true alchemy in the making) as a former doula with deep ties to the PNW birth community. I received my training in placenta encapsulation from Carrie Kenner of Big Belly Services in 2012 & have been providing this service to mothers & postpartum people ever since. I continue to offer this medicine as part of the great initiation into the portal of childbirth & parenthood as a way to honor & help new parents transition into the next chapters, as well as the new roles in their lives.
I am an uninvited guest on the unceded land of the Coast Salish People, the First People of what is now called, Seattle. In addition to working with placentas, I am passionate about tangible action towards restorative justice, creating sacred spaces in our community to connect more deeply with ourselves, each other & this earth realm. I am a solo mother to a bi-racial/cultural child, which has largely informed my experience as a parent. I enjoy spending time with my greatest teacher, sidekick, best friend & travel buddy; my 14-year-old daughter, Aminata. I feel most alive & at peace in the majestic mountains that rise from this benevolent Earth & the graceful valleys that were carved below. I spend my free time in ceremony, dancing, listening to music, studying plants/herbs & astrology, writing poetry, learning guitar, singing, serving my community & traveling whenever possible. I am embarking on a vibrational & vocal journey to connect with the frequency of my ancestral roots which are from the lands of present-day Denmark, Italy, Germany, France, and Bulgaria.
I am an active student of Escuela Solar Inka, learning, bridging & integrating the ancient wisdom of Solar Inka lineage, under Q’echua medicine woman, healer & spiritual guide, Q’ori Qespe Wayta. This work has profoundly changed my life. Thank you to the cosmos, four elements and directions, conscious beings & ancestors who came before me & who will remain long after my body is gone. I honor with gratitude the Coast Salish tribes past & present, as stewards of this land- a truly beautiful place that I feel great reverence & humility in calling my home. I am a mother of two, dedicated to the healing arts and birth work as well as special needs awareness and social justice. I met Erin when I applied for her doula apprenticeship and was going through Doula Certification through Carrie Kenner’s Doula certification 10 years ago. Erin has given me a complete training in her methodolgy of placenta encapsulation. I am honored and excited to work with families to assist her in bringing this medicine to the community.
